Oh the Excitement!

Haley has been trying to find where she fits in with new friends, a new school, and a new town. After a couple of long discussions with Dave we decided it would probably be best to let Haley have a slumber party. This would accomplish a couple of things...1)It would let the girls that Haley is either friends with or the ones that she would like to get to know a little better a little different perspective of who she is and where she comes from. 2)It would show Haley that she is no different then the other girls who themselves are trying to figure out where they fit in.
So the plan was set to allow Haley to have some friends over on Valentine weekend. She was ECSTATIC when we told her, she immediately set to work planning the party (I wonder who she gets that from?!) The guest list grew to 16 girls...I wasn't scarred at first because typically not everyone can come for one reason or another and I figured that we would be lucky to have 1/2 come. Boy was I wrong!!!! THEY ARE ALL COMING!!!!! Not only are they coming but they are all very excited to have been invited.
The requested menu is a teenagers dream meal...they will start by making their own pizza, our famous Chocolate Peanut Butter Brownies, Caramel corn, and all the movie snacks that you can think of...that is for Fridays menu. Saturday morning they want Chocolate Chip pancakes, eggs, bacon, and sausage. I must say it is going to be worth all the effort...I haven't heard Haley say "I love you" more times in her short life as I have in the last couple of weeks. Her excitement has completely bubbled over and her self-esteem seems to be on the rise. I will have to post pics after I survive the weekend! Wish me luck!!!!!

That is sooo much fun!! That is always so important to let the kids do stuff like that because it definitely shows them that you love them.. because you sacrifice your time for them.. and sanity!! I remember that was always the best way for me and my friends to grow closer.. was to spend time like that together. I am sure this is going to help Haylee A LOT!! How fun for her. 16 girls is definitely a ton tho!! Good luck!!
